By crafting and implementing innovative compensation strategies, we ensure our compensation offerings are competitive, equitable, and aligned with OpenAI's mission to scale intelligently and ethically.

About the Role

We are expanding our Compensation team and seeking a Compensation Partner to support our global growth. This strategic position oversees the design, configuration, and execution of compensation cycles, manages vendor relationships, and owns compensation data submissions. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented, analytically proficient, experienced in configuring HRIS tools for compensation planning, and demonstrates robust project management skills. 

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, oversee, and execute compensation review cycles, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and project manage compensation initiatives.

  • Partner with Workday engineers and compensation vendors to configure compensation planning modules.

  • Manage relationships with vendors and own compensation data submissions.

  • Analyze compensation data and trends to provide insights and recommendations.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation or related roles.

  • Proficient in data analysis and compensation tools.

  • Experience configuring compensation planning modules within HRIS tools.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of compensation practices, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of managing complex processes.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Location and Workplace

This role is based in our Mission Bay, San Francisco office. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office with optional work from home on Thursdays and Fridays. We also offer relocation assistance to new employees.

Our open-plan offices have height-adjustable desks, conference rooms, phone booths, well-stocked kitchens full of snacks and drinks, three in-house prepared meals daily, outdoor space for working and socializing, wellness rooms, private bike storage, and more.
