The Maritime Experimental Flight Test Manager will facilitate seamless cross-functional collaboration between Engineering and Customer Success to ensure the successful completion and integration of all R&D requests through the maritime experimental flight test team.

The Maritime Experimental Flight Test Manager will facilitate seamless cross-functional collaboration between Engineering and Customer Success to ensure the successful completion and integration of all R&D requests through the maritime experimental flight test team.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure the team is updated with pertinent information from senior leaders to support their success. You will collaborate closely with flight test engineers on scheduling testing events, providing crew availability details, and their qualifications.
  • Work with the Technical Program Managers (TPM) to ensure objectives and timelines are met and integrated into the flight schedule. Throughout these processes, you facilitate communication between the team, TPMs, and Flight Test Engineers, addressing any issues or necessary changes within each system.
  • Work closely with the XFT Manager in Frisco to accomplish maritime testing events and objectives, collaboration will be key. You will also identify maritime test ranges that meet the specific requirements of each test event to achieve mission objectives.
  • Relay the outcomes of the engineering team's work to senior leadership on the Customer Success (CS) side. Your role includes providing a detailed schedule and an outline of upcoming events to enable effective planning for all teams involved, ensuring alignment with Shield AI's needs. 
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years in a leadership role  
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree or higher  
  • Strong project management skills with experience in planning, scheduling, and executing flight test programs. 
  • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively. 
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with senior leadership and other stakeholders. 
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and unforeseen challenges in an experimental setting. 
  • Experience (typically 10+ years) in flight testing and aircraft systems 
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of managing and leading flight test programs, preferably with experimental or prototype aircraft 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address and resolve technical and operational challenges. 
  • Decisive and able to make informed decisions quickly, especially in high-pressure situations. 
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and unforeseen challenges in an experimental setting. 
  • Demonstrate full understanding of maintenance process and procedures.

    Total package details:
    Regular employee positions: Salary within range listed above + Bonus + Benefits + Equity
    Temporary employee positions: Hourly within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)
