AMD together we advance_ MTS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - Post Silicon Validation Lead THE ROLE: AMD’s Strategic Silicon Solutions group is responsible for custom silicon solutions for advanced gaming platforms such as XBOX, PlayStation, Steam Deck. As a Post-Silicon/ SWQA Lead you will play a critical role in ensuring our custom silicon products meet AMD’s quality standards and achieve production quality. To do this, you will interact with the architecture, software, customer, and other teams to develop a deep understanding of Software and Firmware feature requirements, guide a team of engineers to develop and execute studies and testcases to validate the product meets specifications, and develop strategies to improve the quality of deliverables. THE PERSON: Seasoned Technical Leader in post-silicon validation domains - Graphics, Multimedia, Display, Firmware, and/or BIOS. Enthusiastic about post silicon validation, debugging boards and enjoys solving complex problems. Lead post-silicon validation team of 3-4 members. Advocate of quality, lean process and up to date with latest validation or testing trends. Worked in a multi-geo projects and teams. Excellent communicator, people skills, collaborator and leader. Your curiosity will drive your learning and innovation to improve how we as a group and an organization. Self-driven, enjoys new challenges and quickly adapts to change in a fast-moving environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead SWQA planning and execution for key S3 programs and manage a small team of 3-5 SWQA members. Deep dive in software and firmware requirements to develop test plan to validate IPs in the product requirements. Leverage prior experience to improve test coverage and quality of software / firmware components that implement AMD IPs – CPU, Graphics, Multimedia, Display, Security etc. Automation first mindset and goes beyond call of duty identify way to bring in lean way of execution without compromising quality. Mentor, coach, and guide juniors team members within team on validation. Managing stakeholders and external/or customer interfaces Excellent debug and triage skills with understanding of ARM and/or x86 architecture Develop technical relationships with peers and partners. Be accountable for software release testing on assigned programs. Collaborate with QA and/or post-silicon validation communities within AMD to share ideas, get up to date with testing trends and implement best practices. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Technical SWQA / Post silicon validation leader with extensive experience in defining test strategy, test planning, execution (manual and automation) and release management. Expertise in one or more of the following IP/domains, CPU, Graphics, Memory, Security, Multimedia, Display, PCIe and ACPI. Experience post-silicon validation on different OS platforms like Windows, Linux, Knowledge of x86, ARM and RISC V Architecture Hardware board bring up and debugging. Test Automation and Programming (Python, Perl, etc.) Structured communication and presentation. Experience working in a fast paced matrixed and multi-site technical organization Experience working directly with external customers and partners NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE: Continuous Integration and continuous delivery (Jenkins, Hudson, Azure etc.) Configuration management and tools (GitHub, Gerrit etc.) Applied/or leveraged AI / ML tools for improving execution efficiency and productivity improvements.
