In pursuit of this mission, our Recruiting team is responsible for finding, assessing, and hiring exceptional talent across various fields and specialties. The team acts as consultative and operational partners to our teams across OpenAI and up to our CEO, Sam Altman. We’re an established, collaborative team with a balance of structure, process, and ambitious problems to solve for.
About the role
We’re looking for a Recruiting Coordinator to join our team and partner directly with Recruiters, Sourcers, and Hiring teams to support our hiring experience.
This role will own the logistics of interviewing, including simple and complex interviews, facilitating office visits/tours, communicating with candidates and overall supporting a world-class candidate experience. You’ll also work closely with our Executive Operations team to help connect candidates with OpenAI’s leadership team.
This role reports to our Recruiting Coordination Lead and is a 12-month contingent role with a pay rate of $41 per hour for a 40-hour workweek. The position includes optional benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. We are looking to onboard this role by early September.
You’ll have several areas of responsibilities, including:
Be the primary scheduling and interview planner for various Recruiters and Hiring Managers across our teams.
Use our tools like Ashby, ChatGPT, G-Suite, and others to uphold a timely and positive hiring experience and process.
Have the ability to problem solve and adapt to an ever-changing environment while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
Manage clear, concise, timely, and professional communication with candidates and hiring partners in written and verbal form.
Handle candidate reimbursement & travel (domestic and international).
Work with our Executive Operations team to support and improve candidate experience and management of senior and executive level candidates
We’ll look for these qualities, experience, and skills:
You have ~1 year of Recruiting Coordination or Admin experience and want to continue mastering this work and role.
Have a track record of supporting multiple hiring needs and candidates at a time with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Care deeply about building a diverse and inclusive recruiting pipeline and work environment.
Learn quickly and thrive in a constantly evolving environment with shifting priorities.
Are deeply interested in technology and artificial intelligence and their potential for positive impact on humanity.
Location and Workplace
This role is based in our Mission Bay, San Francisco office. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office with optional work from home on Thursdays and Fridays.
Our open-plan offices have height-adjustable desks, conference rooms, phone booths, well-stocked kitchens full of snacks and drinks, three in-house prepared meals daily, a private outdoor space for working in the sun or socializing, nap rooms, private bike storage, and more.
