A fast and flexible go-getter, you thrive on new opportunities and possess a natural aptitude for collaboration. You maintain exceptionally high standards, elevating the craft of copywriting, inspiring both yourself and your team to achieve impactful results. Your effective copy and dedication to content consistency will be evident across a multitude of touchpoints. You bring a progressive creative instinct and positivity, working effectively in teams with a low-to-no-ego approach.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Senior Writer at Monks, you'll wield words, wisdom, and wit across a variety of deliverables—from social content and web copy to display advertising, e-commerce, and more.
  • Partner with Creative Directors to elevate the creative expression of client brands, achieving new levels of excellence.
  • Present ideas, build client relationships, and confidently lead copy conversations. Proactively respond to feedback (both written and verbal), and follow up with creative and account teams throughout each project.
  • Embrace a hands-on approach, readily collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive work forward. Proactively identify areas for improvement in ongoing projects, elevating the work of fellow writers.
  • Lead copywriting efforts on multiple projects and client brand workstreams, contributing to concept development.
  • Oversee copy for all projects in production, collaborating with the team to refine ideas, strengthen concepts, solve creative challenges through compelling language, and perfect the copy.
  • Ensure all work is clear, consistent, and aligned with client objectives.
  • As part of a global team, collaborate seamlessly across time zones on projects of all sizes, supporting both local and international initiatives.
  • Collaborate with designers, animators, and other creatives to develop engaging content, including videos, static posts, and animations.
  • Adapt quickly to diverse projects and brands, handling both large-scale copywriting demands and concise, impactful messaging.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to personalize content across the entire customer journey, from awareness campaigns to e-commerce experiences.
  • Demonstrate a genuine concern for the well-being of Monks' culture, its people, and its clients.
About You
  • 5+ years of professional copywriting experience in advertising and marketing.
  • Proven experience developing copy-driven concepts with compelling taglines and brand narratives.
  • Ability to craft exceptional copy from briefs, existing drafts, and even from scratch.
  • A unique blend of creative and analytical skills, enabling you to ask insightful questions and critically assess ideas from a conceptual standpoint.
  • Experience crafting brand voice, tone, and style guides to ensure consistent language across all touchpoints.
  • Ability to think critically and contribute constructively to discussions and strategy throughout the entire creative process, from conception to production.
  • Experience in the automotive and/or production industries is highly desired.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a proven track record of creating excellent work across multiple formats (digital, video, social, etc.) is required.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and consistently meet tight deadlines.

Your Work Style:

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized, with an unwavering commitment to grammatical precision.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable, thriving in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Adept at collaborating effectively and finding compromises without sacrificing brand voice or integrity.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Driven to become a subject matter expert, crafting relatable and engaging product-focused copy.
  • Deep understanding of copywriting principles, with a strong grasp of related creative disciplines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A finger on the pulse of emerging creative trends, cultures, and technologies.
  • Committed to upholding equity, inclusion, and accessibility in all aspects of the role.

Working Conditions:

  • The role may involve long hours and tight deadlines, requiring flexibility and a commitment to maintaining high standards under pressure. Collaboration with teams across different locations and time zones is frequently necessary.

At Monks, we believe in fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive. We proactively work to design hiring processes that promote equity and inclusion while mitigating bias.
