Are you a savvy community events strategist, with experience building playbooks and sharing best practices for how organizations can effectively support and sponsor third party community conferences at scale? Do you enjoy creating frameworks and processes to help scale developer/community events programs globally? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an innovative community event strategist to own and define strategies for identifying, engaging, and sponsoring external technology conferences, while building partnerships and acting as a consultant to internal teams who seek to engage with developers at these events.
As Sr. Community Strategist, you’ll own the strategy for how we engage with and sponsor both large-scale developer-focused conferences, as well as smaller community-led meetups. You’ll align internal stakeholders to a common vision for supporting developer conferences, and you’ll identify ways to build presence at these events in a way which earns trust with technical communities. You will be responsible for building lasting relationships with internal stakeholders, and leverage those partnerships to deliver engagements across various developer events.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
Key job responsibilities

· Build and deploy strategies for informal presence at small scale community events (e.g. third party developer meetups).
· Deliver a vision for how these developer touch points align to short term business goals while also driving mutual value and earning long-term trust in developer communities.
· Identify key technology trends (e.g. Generative AI) and scope how these trends should influence thinking around developer event engagement strategy.
· Establish internal partnerships and mechanisms so stakeholders across multiple organizations can align to a common third party developer event strategy.
· Build an internal federation across multiple organizations (e.g. Developer Relations, Product Marketing, Field Marketing, Product Teams), and align these stakeholders to a common third part developer event strategy.
· Create mechanisms, maintain playbooks, and act as a consultant to these internal teams who are engaging with developers in third party events.
· Build and manage processes for analyzing and quantifying the impact (both short and long term) of engagements at third party developer events.
