Are you an experienced technologist who loves working with customers to understand their cloud needs, synthesizing data from multiple sources (e.g. industry analysis, analysts, influencers), and combining that with your experience to drive broad product outcomes that exceed customer expectations? Do you like the idea of simplifying and creating broad, portfolio-level value propositions that make it easier for customers to understand how cloud technology can be applied in their businesses with high impact? At Amazon Web Services (AWS), Technical Product Marketing Managers work backwards from their understanding of customer and industry requirements and are able to “connect the dots” between various different AWS capabilities and services to make sure that we are building and marketing the right portfolios of offerings to meet and exceed the needs of our customers – and that we’re able to clearly articulate the value propositions of our capabilities. In this role you will leverage your own deep experience as a technologist who has worked closely with customers who use cloud capabilities, synthesize external and internal data from multiple sources, and work closely with AWS Product Managers across numerous different services. You’ll help guide feature prioritization, ensure consistency between various different services, and own the development of crisp, highly differentiated, and compelling positioning and messaging at the portfolio level.

AWS is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 200 fully featured services from data centers globally. You’ll have the chance to work on various different sets of these services and capabilities (including Analytics, Developer Tools, Compute, Databases, Generative AI, Observability, Security) based on your experience, interest, and aptitude – as well as on new offerings while they are being developed.

We are looking for builders who have experience working directly with customers, analyzing and synthesizing data from multiple sources, and who thrive both when working closely with engineering teams to influence product outcomes and building value propositions that will educate customers on the value that technology can bring to them. In particular, we are looking for individuals who can operate at both a broad and deep level; who can understand our technology with the same depth that our customers do, and who can think like a technologist and a business leader simultaneously.

Preference for this role to sit in Seattle, WA USA, but open to these additional locations: Arlington, VA, USA | Boston, MA, USA | New York, NY, USA | Portland, OR, USA | San Francisco, CA, USA | Santa Clara, CA, USA. Relocation offered from within the US to these locations only.

Key job responsibilities
• Partner with engineering and product management to develop portfolio-level strategy documents to guide prioritization of AWS offerings and capabilities we build
• Creation of positioning and messaging artifacts that will represent our offerings at a portfolio level
• Analysis and synthesis of 1st and 3rd party data (including driving direct data gathering from customers) to define opportunities for our offerings
• Acting as an advocate for customers within AWS (both based on direct customer work and your interactions with our customer-facing teams) during the product development process
• Involvement in the generation of content artifacts (presentations, demos, etc.) that can be leveraged broadly to educate customers on our offerings
• Working closely with other AWS teams to ensure these value propositions are articulated broadly and clearly (e.g. re:Invent keynote, AWS Summits, other AWS sales and marketing channels)
• Open to some travel (up to 15%)
