We are seeking a skilled and experienced PCB Power Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a PCB Power Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing power distribution systems on the next generation of AI accelerated cards ensuring performance, area and cost.
This role is hybrid, based out of Toronto, ON, Canada.

Responsibilities:
- PCB Power System Design: Design, develop, and optimize power distribution systems on printed circuit boards to meet performance and reliability requirements
- Component Selection: Select appropriate power components such as voltage regulators, capacitors, inductors, and connectors based on design specifications and application requirements
- Power Integrity Analysis: Perform power integrity analysis, voltage regulation, and power consumption analysis using simulation tools like Simplis, PSim, SiWave, or similar
- EMI/ EMC Compliance: Ensure compliance with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards by implementing proper power distribution and decoupling techniques
- Thermal Management: Collaborate with thermal engineers to ensure effective thermal management of power components and traces on the PCB
- Design Validation: Work closely with validation and testing teams to validate and verify the performance of power distribution systems through prototyping, testing, and debugging
- Documentation: Create detailed design documentation including schematics, layout guidelines, design specifications, and test procedures
- Debugging and Troubleshooting: Investigate and debug power-related issues discovered during board bring-up and post-silicon validation and work with relevant teams to implement effective solutions
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware design, firmware/software development, and mechanical engineering to ensure seamless integration of power systems into the overall product design
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
- Proven experience in designing power distribution systems on printed circuit boards for high power products.
- Experience with end-to-end power design tools such as Simplis, PSim, SiWave, or similar as well as an enterprise eCAD tool.
- Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines for PCB design, EMI/EMC compliance, and thermal management.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of various topologies including but not limited to multi-phase buck, boost, STC, TLVR, magnetics, control theory and VR tuning
- Familiarity with PCIE CEM, PMBus, AVSBus standards
- OCP/OAM, PCIE graphic cards and systems (consumer and datacenter), 230V, 54V and 12V sub-systems
- Power integrity, PDN analysis and optimization
- Strong lab and debugging skills, VR bringup and validation
